Jello Summer dessert

The ultimate low-calorie summer dessert‼️ 🏖

Can’t go wrong with jelly and frozen fruit for a summer low calorie dessert!

Jelly contains gelatine. Gelatine is a protein made from collagen found in our bones, skin and joints! But we get it from animals in order to use it in our foods.

Skin care: Research suggests that due to it’s high protein and collagen content, gelatine may promote hydration of the skin for a glowing and youthful look.

Gut health: Emerging research suggests that gelatine may help with a leaky gut and symptom relief for patients with IBD as it protects the intestinal wall from damage.

Pro-tip: If you have a stoma bag, jelly can help with firming the consistency (along with marshmallows )

Ingredients:

  • White layer: 1 teaspoon Gelatine powder, 25ml sweetened almond milk +25ml water, chia seeds

  • Red layer:0% jelly + 50ml water

  • Clear layer: 1 teaspoon gelatine powder + 50ml herbal mint tea 🍵

Directions:

  1. For the clear layer: In a pot heat the 50ml water and add herbal mint tea bag (but do not boil). Add the gelatine powder in and stir well until the crystals fully dissolve. Add the first layer in a glass and let it cool in the fridge until the mixture becomes firm.

  2. For the red layer: In a pot heat the water (but do not boil). Add the jelly powder in and stir well until the crystals fully dissolve. Let the mixture COOL. Once it has cooled down add this on top of the first layer in the glass and let it cool in the fridge until the mixture becomes firm.

  3. For the white layer: In a pot heat the 25ml water + 25ml almond milk (but do not boil). Add the gelatine powder in and stir well until the crystals fully dissolve. Add 1 teaspoon chia seeds in the mixture. Let the mixture COOL. Once it has cooled down add this on top of the second layer in the glass and let it cool in the fridge until the mixture becomes firm.

  4. Repeat the above steps until the glass is full.

  5. Top with frozen berries! ❤️

Tip: You can add the berries in the mixtures while making the dessert. But I chose to just put them on top.

Enjoy!
